8/31/05 Show Music

Today's closing music was by Butch Walker and called San Fernando Sexx Star. There's the iTunes link for you to grab it. Butch's 2002 album, "Left of Self-Centered" has more of a rock feel than his more recent 2004 release called Letters, but both contain great tracks and he's one of my favorite artists.

That's all I got for you today! Enjoy Butch!

8/30/05 Show Music

Today's music was from a group called Dishwalla. You may remember they had a huge hit awhile ago called Counting Blue Cars. The song I played on today's show was from the same release as Counting Blue Cars, and is called Charlie Brown's Parents. There's an iTunes link for you there.

Also check out their newest album which I think is even better than their first. It's called Dishwalla and features two of my current favorite songs: 40 Stories and Coral Sky.

There you have it! Tuesday's music! As alwways, feel free to leave a comment with suggestions for end-of-show music on DV. Keep in mind I can only play a small clip of commercial music so the RIAA doesn't come after me. I'm just try to pimp some bands I like :)

8/29/05 Show Music

The music at the end of the show was called Save Me by Dexter Freebish. Here's a link to the iTunes page for their newest album Tripped Into Divine.

You may remember Dexter Freebish from their huge radio hit called Leaving Town. See!? A Blast from the past, right? Other awesome songs by Dexter Freebish includes Ghosts, What I Need, Breathe, geez.. the whole album is great. Check it out!

I'm always looking for good music to play at the end of DV. Email me or leave a comment here.

Peace,

8/26/05 Show Music And What I'm Listening To Now

Friday's closing music was: Marvelous 3 - Radio Tokyo Clicking on the link will bring you to the iTunes music store where you can purchase this track from the album "ReadySexGo".

If you listen to Distorted View regularly, you'll end up hearing tons of Marvelous 3, as their songs are a great, energentic way to end the program. Marvelous 3 broke up several years ago, but lead singer Butch Walker soon returned as a solo artist. You'll also hear a shitload of Walker's stuff on Distorted View, so I urge you all to check out his site and purchase his work.

I only play a quick 30 second snippet of the song on Distorted View because it's a commercial release, and I don't want to be sued :) I do, however, feel these songs deserve much more expsoure than they have currently received. So, I'm here to pimp them out and encourage you to purchase the music.

My current musical obsession is re-visiting 90's rock bands and seeing what they're up to now. Many of these group shad one or two hits and then faded away. I've found a lot of them are still producing really good stuff. Check out Vertical Horizon's new album "Go" , and Dishwalla's new self-titled release to see what I'm talking about.

Some great tracks on these albums:
Vertical Horizon: Echo
Dishwalla: 40 Stories, Coral Sky

Feel free to leave comments and music suggestions!
